Many people think that radiant flooring is too expensive. Theses people are right in assuming that radiant flooring can be expensive. But it doesn’t have to be. When people think about getting a heating system they generally think about heating their whole house. This seems logical. Why would you just heat small portion of your house but not the rest? Well if you already have an existing heating system, radiant flooring might be a really good complement. First I suggest that you don’t use radiant flooring all over your house because the HVAC technicians will have to redo all your floors and that will get expensive very quickly. If you limit yourself and only install radiant flooring on the areas where you are standing the most you will get the most use for your money. There is no point in installing radiant flooring in your living room when most of the time you will be sitting or even laying down on your couch. Also most of the time your feet may not even touch the floors. In the kitchen and bathroom however, you will almost always be standing. Whether you’re cooking a meal or getting ready for bed, if you have radiant floors in your kitchen and bathrooms, you will never need to worry about the temperature of your feet again. Another reason radiant flooring is perfect for the kitchen and bathrooms is that it also works best on wood and tile floors. So if your living room has carpeting, that’s another reason to not get radiant flooring in that room.
