I love residing on my own, truly I do. As a teenager I just hated all the rules my parents had around the beach house related to what I could or could not do. They were so strict about everything, however the worst sort of rules were related to the heating and A/C system. Every one of us had a large four story beach house with all of these hardwood floors. It either was consistently too warm or consistently too cold. There simply never was any sort of middle of the ground temperature that was comfortable for all involved. So when warm season constantly hit and the people I was with and I were drenched in the humidity and heat, all I wanted to go ahead and do was turn on the a/c, however my mom had a lock on the thermostat that set the temperatures so that they would go on and off at certain times. It bugged myself and others so much when our enormous beach house was frying! When Winter came around it was just as excruciating for the floors were bitter freezing and no actual amount of heat that he would turn on could hot us to temperatures that were pleasing. I looked right at the thermostat and I couldn’t believe what he had it on. I suppose he was trying to conserve energy costs, however it seemed so crazy to me! Well, when I finally moved out, that was the very first thing I couldn’t wait to do. I would turn on the a/c when I was too warm to whatever I wanted to cool down and when I was freezing I would be totally blissful in the heat that I would let run as long as I desired. The first month our heating bill arrived and naturally I nearly cried at the expenses it was so high. I called my mom that moment and apologized for consistently rudely complaining about his thermostat rules and thanked my parents for their rules about heating and cooling costs.
