I adore living on my own, because as a teenager I just hated all the rules my parents had around the lake house on what I could or was not allowed do. They were so strict about everything, however the worst was with the heating and a/c because all of us had a immense several story lake house with hardwood floors. It either was constantly too horribly sizzling or constantly too cold. There simply was never a middle of the ground temperature that made the house comfortable for all involved. So when Summer hit and the two of us were drenched in the humidity as well as sweltering heat, all I wanted to do was turn on the A/C, however my mom had a lock on the temperature control that actually went ahead set the temperatures to go on and off at particular times. It bothered me so much when our house was frying care about an oven! And when winter time came around it just so happened to be just as bad for the floors were bitter cold and no amount of heat that she would turn on could effectively warm us to temperatures that were pleasing. I looked at the temperature control and I couldn’t honestly recognize what she had it on. I think she was trying to conserve energy and efficiency costs, however it seemed so silly to me! Well, when I finally moved out, that was the first thing I couldn’t wait to do for myself. I went ahead and turned on the A/C when I was too sizzling to whatever I wanted to cool down and when I was cold I would be comfortable in the heat that I would let run as long as I desired. The first month our heating bill arrived to my new place I nearly cried at the expenses it was so high. I called my mom that moment and apologized for complaining about her temperature control rules and thanked her for what she taught me with regard to heating and cooling costs.
