Cabin without central heating and air–

Last year I took the most memorable vacation of my life, but not for good reasons. My brother and I had been working very hard, and we were both dying to escape. Together, we decided to rent a cabin in the most remote area we could find. We found a small cabin online that was about three hours from where we lived. We booked a stay there for a week before we realized what we had done. When imagined we would spend time relaxing in the mountains, skiing, reading, and cooking. When we got there, we found that the house did not have an HVAC system. After the drive and paying the rental fee, we decided to stick it out anyway. For the first three days, all we had was a fireplace. My brother had to spend a couple of hours each day chopping wood to keep the fire lit. All I could think about while we were chilly even inside was how much I missed being able to control my heater using only a thermostat. I realized how much I take central heating and air for granted. After three days, we were tired of feeling cold all of the time, so we decided to drive back to the city to purchase a couple of space heaters for our rooms. They made it much easier to sleep at night. When the week was up, we were rejuvenated but entirely ready to get back to our homes. The first thing I did was turn the heat way up. Next, I sat down in my recliner and took a long nap beneath the air vent. I slept like a baby for nearly four hours. Never again will I take a vacation without ensuring that the rental home has central heating and air.
